Physical Activity Behaviour in Solid Organ Transplant Recipients: Proposal of Theory-Driven Physical Activity Interventions

چکیده
Physical inactivity is highly prevalent after solid organ transplantation and leads to unfavourable outcomes. This review aimed understand posttransplant physical activity behaviour propose interventions. Michie’s Behavioural Change Wheel was applied, in which the Context Implementation of Complex Interventions framework, Capability-Opportunity-Motivation Behaviour model, Theoretical Domains Framework were embedded. Various contextual factors found modulate behaviour. Promising strategies promote long-term included (i) tailoring programs patients’ abilities preferences; (ii) incitement intrinsic autonomous motivation change; (iii) SMART goals setting (e.g., Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Timebound), (iv) autonomy-supportive co-design action plans; (v) foster new habit formation; (vi) self-monitoring activity; (vii) follow-up opportunities for evaluation adjustment; (viii) education transplant recipients, healthcare providers, social network; improvement self-efficacy through incremental successes, verbal persuasion, peer modelling, awareness exercise-related bodily signals; (x) providing opportunity within environmental setting; (xi) encouragement support from network providers; (xii) governmental that alleviates financial barriers restructures environment activity. These insights may contribute program development recipients.

Physical activity in solid organ transplant recipients: preliminary results of the Italian project.
BACKGROUND/AIMS The role of physical activity in transplanted patients is often underestimated. We discuss the Italian National Transplant Centre experience, which started in 2008 studying transplanted patients involved in sports activities. The study was then developed through a model of cooperation between surgeons, sports physicians and exercise specialists. METHODS A multicentre study was...
متن کاملPhysical activity patterns and exercise performance in cardiac transplant recipients.
BACKGROUND Cardiac transplantation (CTX) improves exercise tolerance, but CTX recipients still achieve only 50% to 70% of normal values for exercise capacity. Among the factors suggested to explain the reduced exercise tolerance in CTX recipients is deconditioning. Little is known about the relation between physical activity patterns and exercise test responses in CTX patients. METHODS Forty-...
متن کاملTolerance of Organ Transplant Recipients to Physical Activity during a High-Altitude Expedition: Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro
BACKGROUND It is generally unknown to what extent organ transplant recipients can be physically challenged. During an expedition to Mount Kilimanjaro, the tolerance for strenuous physical activity and high-altitude of organ transplant recipients after various types of transplantation was compared to non-transplanted controls. METHODS Twelve organ transplant recipients were selected to partici...

متن کاملParasitic infections in solid organ transplant recipients.
Parasitic diseases are rare infections after a solid organ transplant (SOT). Toxoplasmosis, Trypanosoma cruzi, and visceral leishmanias are the 3 main opportunistic protozoal infections that have the potential to be lethal if not diagnosed early and treated appropriately after SOT. Strongyloides stercoralis is the one helminthic disease that is life-threatening after transplant. This review add...
